The first KWP contract is a milestone for MRK’s Energy Division. We are very pleased with the successful completion of the municipal heating plan in the Harpstedt Joint Municipality. The Climate and Environment Committee unanimously approved our 100-page report, thereby reaffirming its confidence in the work of our Energy Department. Our project managers, Paulo and Ilyass, presented the heat demand analysis on site—which showed an annual demand of 228.25 GWh—and outlined specific approaches for future heat supply. They highlighted how local governments can expand the use of heat pumps, utilize industrial waste heat, and make effective use of CO₂-neutral wood pellets from sustainably managed forests. During the meeting, policymakers and residents engaged in an open dialogue about funding opportunities, costs, and implementation steps.

We want to provide information, offer advice, and actively support the people in the region. Representatives from the political arena and the energy cooperative made it clear that they would like to continue on this path together with us.
