Our portfolio
MRK Media AG is your successful and effective partner for the goal-oriented implementation of your projects. In doing so, we reliably take over the management of the entire realization chain in the following subject areas:
Smart Cities / Smart Regions and Sustainable Urban Development
Industry 4.0, Internet of Things, 5G – Technology development in recent years has been enormous and seems unstoppable even in global crises. Digitization now impacts almost all areas of our daily lives and corresponding innovations can be used much more frequently and in many different ways. These changes do not stop at the municipal level. A wide range of new development opportunities are arising for cities and local authorities.
In order not to simply let digitization happen, but to make the resulting technologies usable for themselves, an active shaping of communities in the sense of a sustainable and integrated urban development and digitization strategy will be necessary. The tasks to be mastered in this context are very diverse and complex.
With the aim of meeting these challenges of an interdisciplinary, strategic reorientation of cities and municipalities, MRK supports its clients in the planning, development and implementation of their Smart City / Smart Region and sustainable urban development projects from the initial idea to realization.
Mobility as a Service (MaaS) / New forms of mobility
MaaS applications as a solution approach for urban mobility challenges & rural mobility needs.
Mobility as a Service (MaaS) is the innovative linking of different modes of transportation into a single service offering that users can access on demand.
MaaS extends traditional public transport services with bikesharing, carsharing, on-demand services, etc. in both urban and rural areas.
MaaS aims to provide users with a travel chain tailored to their individual needs and desires.
With MaaS products, users are no longer tied to owning their own means of transport, but can use the mobility services integrated in the multimodal platform at any time. This benefits not only individuals, but also municipalities and private companies.
Data Driven Business / Data-driven applications
Your data can do more – recognize potentials and make them usable!
The targeted evaluation and processing of data in companies, as well as in public administration, holds enormous potential, for example for business optimization and personalized addressing of target groups.
Targeted evaluation, processing and refinement of data can also generate a wide range of competitive advantages as well as internal optimization and value creation potential.
We support you in better understanding your customers and processes, in optimizing processes in order to realize efficiency increases and cost reductions, or to go completely new ways and develop business models. Our focus is always on your innovation and competitiveness as well as the satisfaction of your customers.
Electromobility & alternative drives
For us, electromobility means the use of purely electric, hybrid or fuel cell-powered vehicles – always taking into account demand-oriented charging infrastructures.
The advantages of electric propulsion are obvious: more than twice the efficiency of gasoline or diesel, zero local emissions, and an exciting new driving experience. The switch to electromobility can be justified in many ways from a business, environmental and political perspective, but it poses enormous challenges for operators of municipal and commercial vehicle fleets.
MRK offers a wealth of experience in the development of innovative project approaches and fleet conversion consulting. We support you every step of the way, both in terms of fleet analysis and integrated electromobility concepts.
Driver assistance systems
Technical systems to support vehicle drivers have been standard in the automotive sector for many years and it is impossible to imagine life without them. In the rail vehicle sector, however, their spread has hardly been observed yet.
With our activities in the field of driver assistance systems (DAS), we are helping to support train drivers in passenger and freight rail transport with regard to an energy-optimized driving regime and to relieve them in their daily work.
Our goal is to investigate and demonstrate the multiple benefits and cost-effectiveness of DAS in rail transport.
MRK supports you within the cooperation “M-INA” (MRK – INAVET) in the complex decision to implement a driver assistance system from the very beginning. We investigate whether and if so, under which conditions such a system is worthwhile. Furthermore, the client is fully supported in the potential application for funding and the subsequent implementation and commissioning of the system. We reliably take over the management of the entire realization chain, from the preliminary planning, through the rollout phase, to the follow-up of the project.
Green value creation and sustainability
In Germany, the topic of sustainability and climate protection has so far often been thought of and addressed in the context of large companies.
The EU energy label for technical products such as refrigerators and televisions, the FSC label for wood products from sustainable and environmentally sound forest management, or the MSC label for fish and seafood from environmentally sound fisheries are well-known certificates in everyday life, but still play a rather subordinate role for many SMEs and small large-scale enterprises in Germany.
However, sustainability is also becoming increasingly important for these companies in particular: On April 21, 2021, the European Commission presented the proposed directive “Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive – CSRD”, according to which all companies that can be classified as “large” are obliged to provide sustainability-related corporate reporting from the 2023 financial year. This occurs if the company meets two of the following three criteria:
– More than 250 employees
– Balance sheet total greater than € 20 million
– Sales greater than € 40 million
MRK advises its clients on aspects of the CO2-neutral supply chain and conversion to hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles, operational mobility management and effective measures to save CO2 through the use of digitalization, especially for transport associations and companies. For its clients, it develops sustainability goals and strategies as well as holistic consulting concepts.
Digitization
Digitization represents an ongoing, global megatrend that builds on many individual building blocks:
Smartphone apps simplify and accelerate the procurement and exchange of information in almost all areas – trade, business, industry, production, administration, health, private life, and many more. Generated and collected data can be used conventionally or with the help of artificial intelligence or smart and big data approaches to optimize and expand processes and business models. The Internet of Things, 5G, robotics and automation provide the basis and diverse perspectives for production, logistics and many other industries and areas of life.
For us, digitization is more than just a list of buzzwords: MRK has been successfully advising and supporting its clients for years with regard to their individual digitization measures and ideas in all conceptualization and value creation steps.
Ropeways
In many urban areas, traditional transportation systems are reaching their limits. Congestion, overcrowded buses and streetcars and inadequate access to outlying areas and new developments are widespread problems. The challenge is to find innovative solutions that are not only efficient and sustainable, but also quick to implement and cost-effective. In this context, urban cable cars offer a promising alternative to improve mobility in urban areas.
Urban ropeways offer a number of advantages that can supplement or even replace conventional means of transportation:
– Continuous and efficient passenger transportation
– Short construction time
– Little space required thanks to the use of the “Plus 1” level
– Overcoming topographical challenges
– Barrier-free access
– Environmentally friendly operation with electric drive
– Promoting tourism and increasing the attractiveness of the city
– Transport capacity of up to 6,000 passengers per hour
MRK Management Consultants GmbH has many years of experience and expertise in the planning, realization and consulting of (urban) ropeways. We have already been able to apply this in several projects in Cottbus, Cologne and in the Hochtaunus district, where we have also gained further experience. We support our clients in the development of customized mobility concepts and solutions that meet individual requirements and needs. Our services include:
– Advice on the implementation of cable car tenders
– Support with the tendering of services in the (urban) cable car sector
– Preparation of feasibility and potential studies
