Client: Harpstedt Joint Municipality
For the Harpstedt Joint Municipality, with a population of approximately 10,800, we developed a comprehensive municipal heating plan that serves as the foundation for a future-proof, climate-friendly, and cost-effective heating supply.
The project focused on a detailed analysis of the existing heating infrastructure and the building’s energy performance. Based on extensive data collection regarding energy density, heating demand, and structural conditions, reliable projections for future heating demand were developed.
Building on this, we developed innovative decarbonization strategies and efficiency scenarios that take various technological options into account—including the expansion and optimization of the existing district heating network, as well as the use of renewable technologies such as geothermal energy, solar thermal energy, and heat pumps. A thorough economic assessment ensures that all measures are not only environmentally sound but also financially viable.
Through close collaboration with local stakeholders and transparent communication, a high level of acceptance among the general public was achieved—a key factor in the success of implementing future heating plans.
