MRK created the master plan for telematics in public transportation in the Free State of Bavaria. The objective was to analyze and bundle the upcoming investments of regional and local public transport companies in computer-aided operations control systems (AVLC / ITCS) and the associated funding to be approved by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology in accordance with the GVFG, to create synergies by merging control centers and thus to achieve both technical innovations and economic effects. Requirements were compiled for the funding providers as part of the approval process, enabling the transport companies to pass on the real-time data collected by the AVLC systems to the central data pool and thus increase the attractiveness of public transport for passengers.
