As part of a consortium with PSI Transcom GmbH and TU Dresden (FZM and ITVS), MRK, as the consortium leader, developed a depot management system for the automated control of buses at the depot. Location tracking and communication are based on an Open RAN 5G infrastructure. MRK’s core services included project management and oversight, the provision and upgrading of the real-world lab in Torgau (brownfield site, 5G Release 16+), the design of 3D radio planning functions, and an environmental cost-benefit analysis.
