As part of the funding guideline “5G Innovation Competition within the Framework of the 5x5G Strategy” issued by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI), MRK Media AG developed a 5G concept study for the Spree-Neiße district and was able to demonstrate its expertise.

The MRK project team, consisting of employees from MRK Media AG and MRK Management Consultants GmbH, examined four specific 5G use cases in three project areas:

• Hornow: Picking robots to assist with the strawberry harvest.
• Cottbus/Neuhausen: A 5G campus network for a regional airport.
• Schwarze Pumpe Industrial Park: Autonomous factory transportation and the use of drones.

The presentation provided a compelling demonstration of the potential added value that 5G technology offers today—and especially in the future.
