The goal of the project is to build an FTTB/H broadband infrastructure in the area covered by the Breitband Marsch und Geest Special-Purpose Association (ZBMG), northwest of Hamburg within the Pinneberg district. In this context, MRK Media AG is responsible for construction supervision and project management across all project phases to ensure the reliable and efficient deployment of passive fiber-optic infrastructure by all project participants.
In total, 2,702 households will be made gigabit-capable, and 149 kilometers of underground infrastructure will be completed. In addition, 12 schools and 41 businesses will be connected. The area, divided into five clusters, will be expanded in stages, with MRK Media AG monitoring the progress. Upon completion of the project, more than 80% of the connections in the project area will have speeds of 100 Mbit/s or higher.
